Shipping decides where you deliver and what it costs. You set it up as zones: a group of countries with its own rate.
Go to Shipping under Shop in the sidebar. Each zone is a row showing where it Delivers to, what it Charges, the Delivery time and whether it is Active or Off. Click a row, or the pencil, to edit it.
An address that no active zone covers cannot order online at all. Make sure every country you sell to is in a zone.
The country list at checkout is made from your active zones, so a shopper is only offered countries you deliver to. A zone covering every country (see below) lets them pick any.
Two shipping zones.
The * zone only catches countries that no other zone names. If two zones name the same country, the one with the lower Position is used first.
Editing a zone.
Couriers often charge more, or will not go, to some parts of the UK. List those in Postcodes this zone does not cover: areas such as BT, districts such as PO30, or ranges such as PA20-PA49. You can paste a courier's list as it is.
An address left out of one zone falls to the next zone that covers its country. So you can make a "Highlands & Islands" zone with its own price. If no zone takes it, the shopper is told: "We can’t deliver to this postcode — please contact us, or choose collection if it’s offered."
B means Birmingham only. It never matches BT.
This is the default. Give each product option its Weight (g) on its Selling card, and the basket's weight decides the price.
If a basket is heavier than your last band and there is no "and over" band, it cannot be sent online. The shopper is asked to contact you for a delivery quote.
Some shops do not price postage by weight: "£12 per order, free with two or more", or "£2.50 each". For that, go to Settings → Shop → Payments & shipping and set Delivery is charged to By product.
Each product's Selling card then has a Delivery box: a Delivery charge, Charged Once per order or For each one, and Free delivery from a number of items. Once a basket holds that many, the whole order ships free.
Zones still decide where you deliver. Their weight bands are not used, but each zone gets an Extra per order in this zone (£) for places that cost more to reach. A zone's Free shipping for this zone or Free over (£) still makes the order free.
The postage appears in the order summary as soon as the shopper enters a country and postcode, before they pay. The basket page also tells them when one more item or a bit more spend would make delivery free.
If you cannot deliver to their address, a warning explains why and the Continue to payment button stays off. If you offer collection, they can still choose Collect from us — free. A UK delivery needs a full postcode: "BS27" on its own is refused.
Collection is switched on in Settings → Shop → Store with Offer collection at checkout. Collection is always free, and products marked Collection only are always collected, even with that switched off.
