Bookings and members
Keep pages, or parts of pages, for your members only, and look after the members list: who has joined, who has paid and who is due to renew.
Members is a module that whoever set up your site switches on. When it is on, Members appears under Data in the sidebar, and every page gets a Who can see this page setting.
Whoever set up your site also decides how people join. Usually only you can add members. Some sites also have a public Apply for membership form. If you want that, ask them.
A restricted page is hidden from the menu and left out of the sitemap. Anyone not allowed to see it gets "not found", so nobody can tell it is there. Everyone (public) puts it back.
To lock just part of a page, put that part inside a Members only block. Visitors who are not members see a notice instead, with a Sign in button. You can change the notice's Heading, Message, Button label and Button link, and choose who it is Visible to.
Catalogue items and media folders can be members-only too. A folder's Who can see setting keeps its files from anyone who is not signed in as a member. See The media library.
Restricting a page.
Go to Members. Each row shows the member's Status, name, email and plan, their Tiers, their last payment under Paid, and when they Renews. Use the status buttons along the top, the search box and the tier menu to narrow the list.
A red expired under an active badge means the renewal date has passed and they no longer get in.
The members list.
They are emailed a link to set their own password, so you never type or know it. To change a member, click their name or status. The key button on their row emails them a fresh password link, and the bin removes them. A removed member loses access at once, but their record is kept.
The pound button records a payment: choose the Plan, check the Amount and Received date, say How they paid and add a Reference, then press Record payment. Their membership is extended by the plan's length, from the end of the current one if they renew early.
Tiers (button at the top of the Members screen) are groups a page can be restricted to, such as "Committee". Every active member counts as a member, so a page set to Members only is open to all of them, whatever their tier. A tier's Key cannot be changed once made, but its name can.
Plans are the memberships you offer, each with a Price (0 for free), how long it Runs for, and which tier it Grants. Someone joining on a free plan becomes a member straight away. On a paid plan they stay pending until you record their payment.
Members sign in on the Members' login page. A member who followed a link to a members-only page lands back on that page. Otherwise they go to the Landing page set in Settings → Members, or to their own profile if none is set.
Their profile, Your membership, shows their status, when they joined and when it renews, and lets them change their details and password. If they forget their password, the login page lets them reset it by email.
When a membership is close to running out, the member gets a renewal reminder email. It tells them when it ends but does not take payment. In Settings → Members, How to pay is shown to people joining on a paid plan. Change the members' emails in Emails the site sends.
