Running the site
Settings holds the things you set once for the whole site: its name, contact details, business details, header and footer, upload limits and the rules for each module you run.
Open Settings under System in the sidebar. The screen is split into tabs along the top. General is always there. The others appear only for the parts of Cairn your site runs: CMS, Media, Redirects, Shop, Members and Bookings.
If a tab you expect is missing, that module is switched off for your site. Modules are switched on and off by whoever set up your site, not from this screen, so ask them.
The General tab.
Settings has one save for every tab. As soon as you change a field, a bar slides up at the bottom of the screen saying 1 unsaved change. Press Save settings to keep your changes, or Discard to put everything back as it was.
You can move between tabs before saving. Changes on every tab are saved together.
The Logo and Dark logo are the exception: they save the moment you upload or remove them, so you can't lose them by forgetting to save. The Social share image waits for Save settings like everything else.
Under the test email box, See every email the site sends → opens the Emails screen. See Emails the site sends.
These tabs hold each module's own rules. They are explained in full on the module's own pages; here is what each one covers.
Stripe keys are never typed into Settings. The Payments & shipping card only shows whether your account is connected and ready. To connect or change the Stripe account, ask whoever set up your site.
